Our Vung Tau Travel Guide is designed to make sure you don’t miss out on any of what the city has to offer. There are plenty of things to see and do in Vung tau. Use the guide and have the information you need to experience it all. Vung Tau is a small seaside resort just along the coast from Ho Chi Minh City. It is serviced by a Hydrofoil the runs from the riverfront of the city. The journey between saigon and Vung Tau takes just 90 minutes, thus it has developed into a favoured getaway destination for Saigon’s middle class. Many people working in the big city will jump on the hydrofoil after work on a Friday and return on the 6.00am boat on Monday mornings.

Things to look out for in the Vung Tau Travel Guide

Vung Tau is an interesting place, full of churches and religious iconry. On the hill that dominates the town a large statue of Christ gazes out to sea. This hill splits the town in two giving us the front beach and the back beach. The front is the busier and it is here that the hydrofoil lands. There are many girlie bars, pubs, restaurants and hotels. Back beach has a lot of hotels and not much else. Though the food on sale in the evenings along the promenade, is excellent. Try the barbecued squid, so great to eat on a warm evening.

The town has a well known flower market, which is not much more than a single street next to a wet market. Vendors arrive and spread their blossoms on the footpath. Watching the locals shopping in the late afternoon is great fun. This is a great town in which to hire a motorbike and go exploring. It is quiet and the roads are pretty empty, a rarity for those living in Vietnam.

Please use our guide and get the most from your visit to this lively seaside town.
