Tributes have been paid to a “beautiful, devoted and loving” daughter killed in a horror moped smash in Thailand. Rebecca Leanne Shaw, 32, known as Becky, was a pillion passenger on a bike hit by a pick-up truck on the holiday island of Phuket.
Becky, who lived in Bradley, was on the back of a bike ridden by Julie Robinson, 55, who escaped with minor injuries.

She had been in Bali for two months and had just completed her training to become a yoga teacher. After spending a little time in Thailand, Becky was planning to return home, reports the Huddersfield Examiner. It is understood Ms Robinson was a friend she met out there. The accident happened on what was described locally as Phuket’s “infamous Patong Hill.”

Though wearing a helmet, local reports said Becky was believed to have suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at Patong Hospital. A local paper named the driver of the Toyota pick-up as Nattaphon Glompan and said he “allegedly slammed into the women on their motorbike as they exited a small soi (road) onto the main road.” The accident happened on December 12 and Becky’s body has now been returned to Britain.
