The Banyan Golf Club opened up for business in 2008 and is an 18 hole championship course. Designed by Pirapon Namatra of Golf East, it is a 7,361 yard par 72. Hua Hin is a wonderful little seaside resort town on the Gulf of Thailand. The favoured holiday haunt of King Bhumibol of Thailand it has been welcoming guests for generations. Set in a beautiful landscaped environment and complimented by world-class facilities, the idyllic Hua Hin resort is a superb place to stay. It boasts luxurious two and one bedroom villas surrounded by tropical gardens. infinity swimming pools, spa and fitness centres are enhanced by 5 star restaurants serving Thai and International cuisine.
Chiang Mai Highlands Golf & Spa Resort
Chiang Mai is the second largest city in Thailand, but don’t let that fool you, it’s small. A wonderful town in the foothills of the nearby mountains. The course was designed by Schmidt-Curly and is an 18 hole Championship beauty. At 7,227 yards the par 72 has 11 holes with water hazards. The scenery is simply stunning and the cooler air of Chiang Mai makes for superb conditions. The course features 19 resort Villas to make your stay complete. Loch Palm Golf Club in Phuket was built around a natural lake and water hazards feature in 13 of the 18 holes. The par 72 runs for 6,422 yards, through pine forest, mountainsides and lush green valleys. The front nine meanders around lakes and palm trees. The back nine though mountains, hitting uphill and downhill bringing the full contents of your golf bag into use. Accommodation is at the fantastic Tinidee Golf Resort. Just 40 minutes from Phuket International Airport this is a magnificent golf resort. It serves two terrific golf courses: Loch Palm and Red Mountain. The resort operates a shuttle bus into the lively nightspot town of Patong.
A truly spectacular course that winds around the mountains that were once home to tin mining. The scars from the old mining have been cleverly utilised into the make up of the course. It’s a 6,900 yard par 72 18 hole delight to play. Eleven water hazard holes and some serious changes in elevation make this a testing and thoroughly enjoyable golfing experience. Designers Jon Morrow and Al Tikkanen, have created a highly strategic and challenging masterpiece. Accommodation is again at the wonderful Tinidee Golf Resort. Staying there and playing these two wonderful courses is one of the best stay and play golf in Thailand experiences.
Black Mountain Golf Club
Since it opened, Black Mountain has risen steadily in stature to become the leading golf resort in Thailand. The setting couldn’t be any more dramatic. It is close to the lovely resort town of Hua Hin. This is great golf in a great setting. It also lays claim as the only course in Thailand to ever be named in Golf Digest’s “Top 100 Courses Outside the US” It opened in 2007 and was designed by Phil Ryan of Pacific Coast Design. This truly is a magnificent 18 hole par 72 7,343 yard golf course. Directly in front of the course, nestled in the foothills are the private villas, where you can relax after your round.
