150 Companies and consortia express an interest in the high speed train, between Singapore and KL.

As of 6pm on Friday (Oct 16), about 150 companies and consortiums (sic) have responded to a Request for Information (RFI) exercise on the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR) project. These include entities based in Singapore, Malaysia, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East and North America, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) and Malaysia’s Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) said in a joint news release on Monday (Oct 19).
Companies have until noon on Nov 18 to respond to the RFI.

In a joint statement, CEO of SPAD, Mr Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah and CEO of LTA, Mr Chew Men Leong, said: “We are pleased by the market’s positive response to the RFI exercise. We look forward to receiving their feedback next month. This feedback will be critical in helping us with the commercial model of the project, and will help ensure that this project starts off on the right note.” The RFI exercise is expected to be concluded by the end of the year.
